My 3 Transferable Skills
Viewing issues from different perspectives
Having empathy allows for better understanding and care when
working with co-workers or clients. I developed this skill from working in
teams that required me to put myself in other people’s shoes. This resulted in
successfully creating solutions that accommodated for the target audience.
This skill will be useful when communicating with others to
develop ideas that suit the client’s needs. Having different perspectives can open new ways of thinking and heighten innovation and creativity.
Resilience
It is a fact that things will always go wrong at work. Therefore, having the resilience to face the issue and persevere towards a solution is important. After experiencing multiple hardships in individual and teamwork, I've come to understand how to control my reactions to failures and maintain a positive mindset.
Resilience is beneficial when working in company projects so that when things go wrong, team morale is intact, allowing us to motivate co-workers and continue to work hard towards a solution.
Working in teams
Collaboration is key to any group projects. This includes working with clients or executive members. Having the interpersonal skills to sustainably work well with others creates success, allowing ideas to bounce from one another. This welcomes different ideas and creativity as we all strive towards a collective goal.
